Mobile Version Up

I have activated the mobile view of the News site so that for those of you have smartphones (which is startlingly a lot of people) can read this site in a simpler format.

The outfits page is open again! I haven't replaced all of the images yet, but I'm pretty close.

The people who take graphics from this site are becoming increasingly helpful. I just came across a girl who had stolen the entire menu, and I was able to get the Flora and Layla buttons back! She would have had a decent site, if it wasn't trying to mimic this one. Oh well.

I've just received an email from Blogger about copyright infringement issues with a few of the episode posts. Here's the list they provided me with:

Calling All Artists!

It's Emma again, and I've been working to get the pages up and running after the image incident. I've been able to recover most, even though the copies I find through Google Images are in shabby shape. I know it's still pretty bare, but I'm about to open up the fan art page for you. You can find your name in the "artists" page if you've ever sent in art, and it would be a great favor if you could send me any copy you have of the art you've submitted. I have a few files saved, but not many, so any help is welcomed!

Three pages have been recovered so far. Now you can enjoy the episodes, character bios, and music videos again! It might take more time to have the rest of the pages in working condition, but I'm doing my best.

Missing Images

I'm off for now. What I've been attempting to work out today is the issue of rapidly disappearing images. If anyone notices (and it's a fact that you will) lost images, please contact me with a link so that I can deal with that post specifically. I'll begin replacing the images on the outfits page as soon as I possibly can. Thank you for your patience, it's much appreciated.

Housekeeping

It's Emma again. If you haven't read the post I made last night, it's probably best to see that one first.

I'm not sure what's up with the disappearing pictures. Some that were fine last night are gone this afternoon. Thank the stars, Phoebe is a packrat verging on hoarder, and has a huge Winx-Fairies folder on her laptop, also where I'm posting this from. We're going to work like madmen to get the images sorted out.

I've talked over email with a few who've had concerns, and the gist is this:

-Yes, Phoebe is still alive.

-No, she has no interest in remaining admin of Winx-Fairies. That's where I come in.

-Yes, she still cares about it and all of the people who have made it what it is today.

Why was I chosen? I still don't know. I work with Phoebe (I work full-time, except Mondays and Wednesdays, off at 6:00) and have been an avid Winx Club fan since the sixth grade. I haven't had much experience with the online fandom, but I'm a quick learner. I also have Phoebe on-hand; luckily she's willing to ease me into this.

It hasn't been easy to do, but Phoebe and I moved all of the blog permissions from her personal account and onto the WinxFairies.site@gmail.com account, which we came up with a slightly better password to. I'm sure it must have taken a lot of deliberation, but that account is now mine.
I understand that there are people who deserve it more than I do, and not everyone will take to the change right away. In spite of this, I'm going to do my best to pick up where she left off. If this doesn’t work, all the permissions are to go to Kikurukina.
Now on to housekeeping.
I don’t have access to the account solariansunshine@gmail.com, and there were over 900 unread messages in it last I had seen it. If you had sent something that you wanted posted to the Fan Creations page, resend it to the usual Winxfairies.site@gmail.com. (Note: I‘m going to be setting up a poll on FC regarding cleaning up the fan fictions. Check it out to have a say, I‘ll be posting about it on here later.)
Phoebe also left with the possibility of a Winx-Fairies makeover. If you could email design ideas to me that would be wonderful, I’d love some ideas to go along with the possible layout drawings she left. Don’t worry, no major changes.
Sorry, I know that’s a lot to take in for one post. I can’t wait to get to know everyone here.

Let's rewatch season one and two!

I have been tinkering with this idea of us collectively watching the first season of the Winx Club together on a certain night and then we can talk about it in the chat box or somewhere else (if anyone one has a good idea).

What do you think?

I would post the episode here on Winx-Fairies and we could all watch it on a certain night/day and discuss it. This could be a weekly thing. I think it would be nice to help newer fans get up to speed about the older seasons and we could talk about things that we liked or disliked in that episode and how we wished it had stayed in the Nick specials.

Also, I'm thinking that we watch the RAI English/Cinelume version rather than the 4kids to get newer fans up to speed.

I'm sure that this is a very late post, but Kiku is back and just as excited as everyone for Nick's releases.

I would like to note that Phoebe and I are full-grown adults who study and work to pay for their schooling, which by the way, is very expensive, as well as the fact that not much beside the Nick releases are happening at the moment. This goes the same for Tabby as well.

Of course, updates will be sporadic, because not much is happening. A degree in quantum physics is not needed to understand this. Be patient. We cannot make up the news.

I would also like to note that even though we are a fairly popular site, we are not a site that will post everything about the Winx Club. This is not because we are lazy, but because this is generally how we want it to be. We post what we think is pertinent. If you think that there is important news that should be posted on our site, we are open to suggestions so feel free to tell us about it in a comment.

I personally don't think a Finnish rerelease of the Winx Club would interest any of the English (and generally North American) readers that come by our site. Think about it for a moment and I'm sure it will make sense to you.

Kikurukina will work this summer

Kikurukina will be gone to work with Air Cadets from June 27 to August 13 as a medical clerk. Updates from her will be sporadic, if not non-existent, as she does not have constant access to the internet. She just received this news this morning that she has to leave in less than twenty-four hours. (Oh how she will miss Nickelodeon premiere!)

Off-Duty Soon!

I know I've been on the site a lot more lately, thanks to my Social Studies and Biology departmental exams that I'm supposed to be studying for (sorry, Kiku), but pretty soon school's going to be over and I have a lot of things planned this summer! The one that's going to keep me away from the site most is my trip to the east coast from July 1st to the 14th, and then I get a few days in Edmonton (I'm out in the middle of nowhere. I live for shopping trips to Edmonton.) Sorry guys, I'll try to get as much reporting in as possible before the end of school! ;)

Oh, and Grad was a few weekends ago! This was the dress I got ^.^

Mozilla Firefox Browser Issues and Smart Phone View

For those who use Mozilla Firefox, I'm curious to know if you encounter problems when you try to post a comment, especially for those who have accounts with Blogger. If you decide to post a comment using your Blogger account and you sign in like usual, does the comment form show your name as Anonymous?

Second, for those of you who have smart phones and like to browse the internet with them, would like to see the Winx-Fairies blogs in a smart phone friendly view? Also, tell us if there are any bugs in the mobile view.

I can't watch the Nickelodeon release...

because I live in Quebec and I don't get the American Nickelodeon channel. I only get the Canadian one and last I checked, they're not airing it. Therefore, I'm in a bind and I can't watch the Nick dub until someone uploads it to the internet. I'm not the only one in this situation, am I?

The Episodes Page

I'm going to try to keep this short and sweet.

I'm re-organizing the Episodes page, trying to make all the episodes more accessible.I've started on season 1, with removing the broken 4kids videos, adding the Rai names, and adding screens to the episode lists so you have a better idea which episode it is. 

Is there anything else I can do? Suggestions would be great.

Tumblr

Has anyone here heard of Tumblr? It's kind of like a mix of Twitter, Blogger, and Facebook all mixed together, and I've been sort of addicted to it lately. But do you know what I noticed? There are only four Tumblrs dedicated entirely to Winx Club. Only four. Only four. Four, people, four.

So just for fun, I made a Winx-Fairies Tumblr just for myself.     


I know a lot of Winx Club bloggers. Winx Club has been insanely popular on Blogger. Wouldn't it be cool if we had a Winx Club community on Tumblr too? It's just a thought, but if you're into Blogger I do suggest you check it out. Winx-Tumblr revolution, anyone?

Winx-Fairies is two years old today! My, how time flys. Thanks soo much to Angela of Angela's Winx Club for reminding me.

One Month Later...

So sorry guys! I got so wrapped up in exams, family traditional, and life in general that I had to temporarily put you guys in the back seat. I'm now going to try to catch up and respond to all the emails...

Here Come The Exams...

Yep, I've got finals again. Time to see how much I've learned over the course of this semester, which means studying up. I only have exams on two subjects, but I take two English ones, so I have three exams over the course of the next three weeks. So I'll be off-duty for awhile.

Hopefully none of the exams involve turning our heads into pumpkins, I don't have notes on that section! :D

Gone to Ecuador

From the 5th to the 21st of January, Kikurukina will be gone to study Spanish in Chimborazo, Ecuador, and to climb mountains.
